How it works

SECURE MY DATE
  • I recommend booking during your wedding planning stage to secure your date, as availability can be limited up to a year in advance. Once booked, I’ll reserve dedicated time in my schedule to carefully preserve your bouquet with the attention it deserves.

You’re welcome to explore the gallery to find a design that feels right for you, then simply book to reserve your space.

Around two weeks before your wedding, you’ll receive your ‘Bouquet Postal Pack’, thoughtfully prepared with everything you need, along with clear, step-by-step instructions to guide you through safely preparing and sending your bouquet.

After your wedding, keep your flowers in water in a cool room and send them within 1-2 days to achieve the best results. If your wedding is on a Friday, you can enjoy your bouquet over the weekend and post it first thing on Monday.

Once your bouquet arrives, I’ll confirm safe delivery and begin the preservation process, carefully transforming your flowers into a timeless piece in your chosen style.

    Pressed Design
Each flower is carefully arranged in traditional presses. This process takes up to four weeks, during which I regularly check, adjust, and refresh the paper as needed. Once fully pressed, your design is thoughtfully created and professionally finished in a Nielsen® frame.

    Dried Design
Your flowers will be carefully dried over a period of up to five weeks. Once ready, I’ll thoughtfully arrange the flowers and order a bespoke, custom-sized frame to perfectly complement your design.

Once your artwork is complete, I’ll email you photos along with the invoice for the remaining balance. After payment is received, we will either arrange a day and time for you to collect your artwork from the studio (required for shadow-boxes) or have it securely delivered to your address via Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm service.

  • Each flower preserves differently; some are more suited to pressing whereas others are best suited to drying whole (i.e. for a shadow-box design). In my experience this is what I’ve found:

    Unsuitable for pressing: Dahlias

Unsuitable for drying whole (i.e. for a shadow-box): Orchids & lilies.

Flowers that can be pressed but look much better when dried: Peonies & chrysanthemums.

If you have any questions before booking in, get in touch.

  • A deposit of £150 is required to secure your place in my calendar. You’ll be invoiced for the remaining payment once your artwork’s complete, with payment required before dispatching or arranging collection of your artwork.

Hello, I’m Lydia…

…the artist behind Lydia Florence. I’m based in Surrey, where I work from my garden studio, carefully preserving wedding bouquets and transforming them into timeless pieces of art.

With a background in art and design, and experience working as a Graphic Designer in the film industry, I developed a strong eye for detail and composition. It was during this time that I discovered a love for pressing flowers - creating delicate herbarium pieces that captured the natural beauty of each flower.

What began as a personal passion soon became something more meaningful.

In 2020, I started creating pressed flower artwork using locally foraged flowers and foliage. Then, a year later, a friend asked if I could preserve her wedding bouquet. After sharing the finished piece, I was overwhelmed by the number of brides asking for the same, and that’s when Lydia Florence truly began.

Now, I specialise in helping couples preserve one of the most meaningful details of their wedding day; transforming their bouquet into a piece of art they can treasure for years to come. I’ve now preserved over 100 beautiful bouquets!

Each bouquet I receive is treated with the utmost care, with the aim of creating something that feels just as special as the day it came from.
